Handmade in Ireland with love & quality craftsmanship, each piece holds a magical story. The map is made from an Irish Sycamore tree that lived in County Galway since c. 1940’s, & also comes packaged beautifully.

This piece is truly special to me. It came about when a customer reached out, looking for something meaningful – a gift that would capture the essence of an Irish wedding and celebrate the couple’s journey together. Inspired by this request, I designed a handcrafted wooden map of Ireland, engraved with the couple’s names, wedding date, and a Claddagh Ring symbol, an enduring icon of love, loyalty, and friendship.
Little did I know that this creation would resonate so deeply. Love stories connected to Ireland are everywhere – whether through ancestry, cherished memories, or the place where two souls first met. One such couple, whose story stays with me, met right here in Galway, where the Claddagh Ring tradition was born. Years later, they returned to say their vows, bringing their journey full circle. Their love for Ireland, and each other, was woven into every detail of their wedding day, just as it is in this map.
As I handcraft each piece, I’m reminded of the many connections we share. Each grain in the wood is unique, just like every love story. No two maps are ever the same, making this a truly one-of-a-kind wedding keepsake – a reminder of where a love story began, or a celebration of the deep ties that bind us.
As the old Gaelic seanfhocal (saying) goes: ‘An áit a bhfuil do chroí, is ann a thabharfas do chosa thú’ – Wherever your heart is, your feet will bring you. Much like love, this map carries a story – rooted in Ireland, and destined to be cherished wherever life takes it…

Studying Furniture Design & Manufacture at GMIT Letterfrack completely changed my life. I discovered a passion for working with my hands, and creating totally unique pieces. When I work with wood I feel truly connected to the material, and at one with nature.
I began to develop Magill Woodcraft Ireland in 2016, my second year of college. Since then I have continued to learn, and constantly aim for the highest quality craftsmanship.
Along with conserving our enchanting Irish culture, my mission is to exceed customers’ expectations, by crafting some of the most heartfelt & beautiful wooden gifts in Ireland.
